SEE 12/07 UPDATE: Our local supermarkets are starting to stock haricot vert more consistantly. We'd them several occasions often during our 2 week trip to Normandy this past year. When nearly prepared to serve, I attempted to warm all things in a sizable skillet, but could not circulate everything too well. I mixed 4 Tablespoons of. balsamic with 2 teaspoon. sugar, put into the beans, and nuked these questions large 13x15 baking dish for one minute every time, and re-arranged the beans and bacon among - total 4 minutes. These were the hit from the meal. I gave 2 single servings to two visitors, and also have Sufficient for all of us for supper tonight. It was only a flavorful and colorful accessory for a festive meal.

Yummy! DH chose to make this the very first time, and accidently used Mange Tout rather of Haricot vert.
