Poor mans filet mignon recipe baked

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread, crumbled
  • 2 eggs, gently beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
  • 2 teaspoons dried celery flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 bottle (18 ounces) hickory smoke-flavored barbecue sauce, divided
  • 2 pounds lean hamburger
  • 12 bacon strips

Directions

  1. Inside a large bowl, combine the very first eight ingredients and a pair of tablespoons barbecue sauce. Crumble beef over mixture and blend well. Form into 12 patties. Wrap a bacon slice round the sides of every patty and secure having a toothpick.
  2. Put on a greased rack inside a shallow baking pan. Bake at 350 for 50-an hour or until meat is not pink basting frequently with remaining barbecue sauce the final half an hour. Yield: 12 servings.
