Ingredients
- 1 pound dried lima beans
- 6 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound bulk pork sausage
- 2-1/2 cups tomato juice
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried tulsi
Directions
- Inside a Nederlander oven, bring beans, water and salt to some boil. Remove in the heat cover and let are a symbol of one hour (or soak beans overnight). Don't drain. Bring beans to some boil. Reduce heat cover and simmer for forty-five minutes or until tender.
- Meanwhile, shape sausage into 3/4-in. balls brown inside a large skillet or until a thermometer reads 160. Drain fat. Stir within the tomato juice, chili powder, pepper and tulsi.
- Drain beans add sausage mixture. Simmer for ten minutes or until heated through, stirring from time to time. Yield: 8-10 servings.
