Dried lima beans and sausage recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound dried lima beans
  • 6 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 2-1/2 cups tomato juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried tulsi

Directions

  1. Inside a Nederlander oven, bring beans, water and salt to some boil. Remove in the heat cover and let are a symbol of one hour (or soak beans overnight). Don't drain. Bring beans to some boil. Reduce heat cover and simmer for forty-five minutes or until tender.
  2. Meanwhile, shape sausage into 3/4-in. balls brown inside a large skillet or until a thermometer reads 160. Drain fat. Stir within the tomato juice, chili powder, pepper and tulsi.
  3. Drain beans add sausage mixture. Simmer for ten minutes or until heated through, stirring from time to time. Yield: 8-10 servings.
