Pigeon peas and rice recipe jamaican beef

Ingredients

3 glasses of grain
1 can of tinned or 1 cup of fresh red peas (either kidney beans or pigeon peas)
5 cloves of garlic clove (finely chopped)
1 uncut scotch bonnet pepper (1 jalapeno pepper can be utilized as an alternative)
3 Scallion (spring onions can be utilized as an alternative)
1 tin (a treadmill cup) of coconut milk

1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of pepper
2 sprigs of fresh thyme (2 teaspoons of dried thyme can be utilized as an alternative)

Cooking


Pour on three glasses of water and then leave to soak overnight (nb - there's you don't need to do that if you work with tinned peas)



You can look at to find out if the peas are cooked by crushing them from the lid from the pot.

(When they crush easily, you are prepared to proceed to the next phase)

NB - If you work with tinned peas jest add these to the pot and move straight to the next thing.

Include the uncut scotch bonnet pepper, nb - the pepper remains uncut in order to not result in the grain spicy, give it a subtle peppery flavour.


The Grain and Peas ought to be ready after about 40 minutes (exact cooking is determined by the company of grain used).
