This burrito casserole is made from all of the great flavors of the beef and cheese burrito. The floor beef combination includes burrito seasoning, refried beans, cheddar cheese, and tortillas. Use part chorizo sausage within this dish, or allow it to be with all of hamburger.

Ingredients
  • 6 medium flour tortillas, soft taco size
  • 1 pound lean hamburger
  • 1/2 pound chorizo sausage. casings removed, or even more hamburger
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • two to three tablespoons chopped jalapeno peppers, optional
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) burrito seasoning*
  • 1 can (approximately. 15 ounces) refried beans
  • 2 large tomato plants, diced
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced eco-friendly onions
  • two tablespoons chopped cilantro, optional
  • 6 ounces shredded mild Cheddar cheese or mixture of Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses

Preparation

Gently grease a couple 1/two to three-quart baking dish. Heat oven to 350° F (180° C/Gas 4).

Slice the tortillas into strips about 1 1/2 to two inches wide. Arrange 1 / 2 of the strips towards the bottom from the baking dish. Set the rest of the strips aside.
