Strawberry vanilla buttercream cheesecake shortcake recipe
Ingredients
  • Strawberry Shortcake:
  • 9 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened, plus much more for greasing
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus much more for dusting
  • 3 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups plus two tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 whole large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream, at 70 degrees
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • 1 pound bananas, plus much more to garnish, optional
  • Icing:
  • 1 1/2 pounds powdered sugar, sifted
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, at 70 degrees
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • Dash salt
Directions

For that strawberry shortcake: Preheat the oven to 350 levels F. Grease and flour an 8-inch cake pan.

Sift together the flour, corn starch, sodium bicarbonate and salt.
