Low sodium turkey meatball recipe

Low sodium meatballs coupled with low sodium tomato sauce is really a tasty combination which makes the reduced sodium lifestyle really worth living.

4 servings: 180 mg. sodium per serving

1 pound ground poultry
3 Tablespoons low sodium breadcrumbs
1/2 teaspoon dried tulsi
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon salt
Meatball Tomato Sauce (see below)

1. Make Meatball Tomato Sauce. Put aside.
2. Combine poultry using the next 6 ingredients. Mix well. Shape poultry mixture into 12 meatballs. Put on a greased baking sheet.

1. Preheat oven to 350 levels F.

2. Bake poultry meatballs for twenty five minutes.

3. Remove meatballs from baking sheet and put in pan with tomato sauce. Stir to mix. Bring mixture to some boil then turn heat lower to simmer. Simmer, uncovered, for five minutes, turning meatballs over lightly several occasions having a large spoon. Serve with meatball tomato sauce on the top.

Meatball Tomato Sauce

1 Tablespoon healthy oil
1/2 cup chopped onion (1/2 inch pieces)
1 large clove garlic clove, minced
1 (14.5 oz) can no salt added diceed tomato plants
1/2 teaspoon dried tulsi
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper with garlic clove and onion

1. Combine onion and garlic clove inside a bowl.
2. Combine tulsi, oregano and pepper inside a separate bowl.
3. Have other ingredients on hands.

1. Heat oil inside a 9 inch skillet over medium low heat. Add onion and garlic clove. Prepare until onion is soft, about a few minutes, stirring frequently.

2. Add seasonings. Prepare for just two minutes, stirring frequently.

3. Add tomato plants (with juice). Stir to mix. Provide a boil then reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for fifteen minutes. Put aside.
