Ingredients

BREAD MACHINE DIRECTIONS

  • PLACE all ingredients except cornmeal and egg white-colored in bread machine pan based on manufacturer's directions. Process on DOUGH setting.
  • SPRINKLE ungreased cookie sheet with cornmeal. At finish of dough cycle, remove dough from machine. Put on gently floured surface. Punch lower dough. (If dough is sticky, knead in flour before shaping.) Cover dough with flannel. Let rest for fifteen minutes. Shape dough into baguette-formed loaf about one foot lengthy. Place loaf on cornmeal-coated cookie sheet. Cover. Let increase in warm place (80° to 85°F) for 25 to 25 minutes or until light and bending in dimensions.
  • HEAT oven to 375°F. Make 1 deep lengthwise slash with sharp knife in surface of loaf. Brush loaf with egg white-colored. Bake 25 to 35 minutes or until loaf sounds hollow when gently drawn on.

  • SPRINKLE ungreased cookie sheet with cornmeal. Punch lower dough. Cover dough with inverted bowl and permit to relax on counter fifteen minutes. Shape dough into baguette-formed loaf about one foot lengthy. Place dough on cornmeal-coated cookie sheet. Cover. Let increase in warm place 35 to 40 minutes or until bending in dimensions.
  • HEAT oven to 375°F. Make 1 deep lengthwise slash with sharp knife in surface of loaf. Brush loaf with egg white-colored. Bake 25 to 35 minutes or until loaf sounds hollow when gently drawn on.
