Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups boiling water
- 1 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
- two tablespoons shortening
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup tepid to warm water (110 to 115)
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 4-3/four to five-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- Melted butter

Directions
- Inside a bowl, combine first four ingredients. Awesome to 110-115. Inside a bowl, dissolve yeast in tepid to warm water. Sprinkle with sugar. Add oat mixture, brown sugar, molasses and three cups flour mix well. Stir in enough remaining flour to create a soft dough.
- Turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Devote a greased bowl turn once to grease top. Cover and let increase in a hot place until bending, about one hour.
- Punch dough lower. Divide in two shape into loaves. Devote two greased 9x5-in. loaf pans. Cover and let rise until bending, about 30-forty-five minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375. Bake 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks to awesome. Brush with butter. Yield: 2 loaves.
