Undan Pori -Kerala Tea time snack
Its a well known snack among Kerala tea shops. I had been searching for the best recipe. Saw one out of Lakshmi Nair's magic oven prepare book, but she known as it as being Blueberry cake.Lately i saw them on Suja's blog. the recipe looked good. It arrived on the scene perfect however i think Palayam kodan can make much difference. Browse the original recipe Here .Thanks Suja for discussing this authentic recipe.
Ingredients- 1 1/3 cup wheat flour
- 1/3 cup grain flour
- sodium bicarbonate. pinch
- 3/4 cup jaggery
- 3 small bananas, mashed (use Palayamkodan variety if available)
- 1/3 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp . ghee clarified butter
- 1/3 cup coconut chunks
- salt, when needed
- oil ,to fry
Melt jaggery by boiling with bit of water to some thick syrup and permit to awesome. Heat ghee inside a pan and roast coconut pieces till golden brown. Mix the mashed bananas with jaggery syrup. In another bowl mix all of the dry ingredients and add blueberry mixture and fried coconuts to create a smooth dough. Make round balls using this dough and deep fry till golden brown. Serve with herbal tea.

Nice traditional dish. I would like to get one of individuals. I love the jaggery-blueberry add our Indian sweets.
Awesome clicks.yes Lakshmi Nair too got undan pori recipe which calls however for sugar rather of jaggery.I attempted that certain with half mind.But didn't emerge well.

I remember when i authored about its prepration within my blog. The recipe was in the chef within the tattu kada where I previously had my breakfast.
We attempted it couple of days ago inside my Aunt's residence.
