Mug cake recipe protein pancakes

I don’t normally upload microwaveable recipes on proteinpow.com since i don’t possess a microwave in England (it’s by choice really, I’ve never felt the necessity to own one and our kitchen counter is at their maximum anyways). However, here in america, I get access to a microwave and that i thought hey hey, let’s give protein mug cakes (i.e. cakes you are making inside a mug and prepare within the microwave) a go! Since I keep seeing these microwaveable protein recipes online that appear to be amazing as well as for ages I’ve wondered, &"will they really TASTE good or perhaps is everything only a mirage? Something which looks great but tastes foul?&" And So I designed a mug cake and also the result? Well&... the end result was type of&... monstrous. This is exactly what Used to do:

1 whole egg
1 egg white-colored
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 scoop vanilla whey protein
2 scoops oat flour

Blend the above mentioned ingredients together and microwave inside a mug for one minute.

The entire factor was&... interesting :-/ It had been really rubbery, dry, and merely&... strange. I work up and shared it with a few family plus they weren’t impressed, by no means. Neither was I. I added a lot of Chocolate Almond Butter on the top after which thought &"hey, this isn’t so bad&" since it wasn’t. However it wasn’t good either. Within the words of Jesse, &"it’s OK however, you could’t sell this inside a store&... I’d eat it basically was depriving but&... I certainly wouldn’t purchase it.&" Maybe it needed a moisturizer? Some applesauce maybe? A blueberry? Some greek yogurt? I don’t know. However I’ll keep tinkering with the microwave and find out contrary decent comes from it, if perhaps ‘for lols’.

I’m unsure though. I am talking about, a friend once published a photograph of the mug cake that looked amazing. &"The truth is though,&" he stated, &"it tastes NASTY&... it’s so rubbery, dry, and merely&... blegh&... I simply ate it since it fit my macros but I didn't appreciate it whatsoever.&" This will make me question, are ‘naked’ tasty mug cakes possible? I.e. mug cakes that aren’t covered in nut butter or protein fluff or yogurt or whatever, plain straight-out-of-the-microwave mug cakes. Would they be good? I’m simply not sure, unsure whatsoever&...

You certainly have to give a moisturiser like pumpkin puree, yams, apple-sauce, or blueberry and most likely some sweetener too.

Do this:
30g Whey protein or Whey protein/Casein blend
14g Oat Flour
60g Pumpkin Puree
6g+ Cacao (if making chocolate, to taste)
8g+ Splenda (to taste)
66g Liquid egg-whites, or 1 egg, 1 egg white-colored
1/2 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
enough water to obtain a soupy batter
right before cooking, throw over a couple of drops of Apple Cider Vinegar Treatment and blend about to obtain the CO2 developing in the sodium bicarbonate (hey I’m a chemist in the end).
Optional extras: cinnamon, spices, nut butters, butter, 2 whole eggs etc. etc..

Microwave for just two mins+ on high (remove JUST once the cake is cooked through, or slightly before).

For me personally this creates a light airy sponge which maintains it’s moisture and tastes decent by itself. Now getting stated that, I’d still go on and frost it and have it having a chocolate fudge sauce (e.g. chocolates, butter, protein powder, hazelnut milk, sweetener) or with ice-cream, but than that might be the case with a &"full-fat&" chocolate sponge cake too. Best of luck, YMMV!

Yes, pumpkin puree is my preferred here’s my personal favorite recipe:

Pumpkin Puffins (Protein Muffins) Microwave Directions
1 Scoop Met Rx Vanilla Protein Powder
1/8 teaspoon Sodium Bicarbonate
1/8 teaspoon Nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon Ground Cloves
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Flavoring
1 Tablespoon Ground Flaxseed Meal
1/4 Cup Pumpkin Puree

In a tiny cup or bowl Mix 1 T. Ground Flaxseed Meal with 3 T. Warm Water, put aside for several minutes while mixing other ingredients (This can produce a &"Flaxseed Egg&")
In microwavable bowl or large mug mix dry ingredients until combined then Add wet ingredients in microwavable bowl / mug
Microwave for several minutes
Loosed Puffin from bowl / mug by scraping round the edge having a fork or knife Eat just like a Ninja!

* Extra note: I've bending the spices at occasions based on things i want. Met Rx Protein Powder could be substituted with Sunwarrior you may make a chocolate version by utilizing Chocolate Bang + some Cacao Powder rather of spices.
