  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, at 70 degrees
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups sifted self-rising flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla flavoring
Directions

Preheat oven to 350 levels F.

Grease and flour 3 (9-inch) cake pans. Utilizing an electric mixer, cream butter until fluffy. Add sugar and then cream well for six to eight minutes. Add eggs, 1 at any given time, beating well after each addition. Add flour and milk alternately to creamed mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Add vanilla and then beat until just mixed. Divide batter equally among prepared pans. Level batter in every pan by holding pan three or four inches above counter, then shedding it flat onto counter. Do that several occasions to produce air bubbles and guarantee of the more level cake. Bake for twenty five to half an hour or until done. Awesome in pans five to ten minutes.
