Fresh steamed broccoli with cheese sauce recipe
Ingredients
  • 3 pounds broccoli, reduce florets, stems discarded or saved for an additional use
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
  • Cheddar Cheese Sauce, recipe follows
  • Cheddar Cheese Sauce:
  • two tablespoons butter
  • two tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups dairy
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1 cup grated sharp Cheddar
Directions

Fill a medium saucepan with 1 " water and put a steamer inside. Bring water to some boil, put the broccoli within the steamer, lessen the heat to medium, cover and steam until tender and vibrant eco-friendly, about a few minutes.

Transfer the broccoli to some bowl and sprinkle gently with pepper and salt. Top the broccoli using the Cheddar Cheese Sauce, or serve it quietly.

Cheddar Cheese Sauce:

Melt the butter inside a medium saucepan over medium heat until foamy. Spoon the flour within the butter and prepare, while stirring, before the flour becomes pasty. Pour within the milk while whisking and season with pepper and salt. Provide a boil, lessen the heat to some medium simmer and prepare for five to eight minutes. Gradually add some cheese by handfuls and stir having a wooden spoon until melted and smooth.
