Cheesy scalloped potatoes betty crocker recipe for banana

This can be a recipe that I've been making for some time. It’s from the Better Homes and Gardens New Cook book, the one which appears like a red and white-colored checkered table cloth. Apparently they alter the recipes because they change editions. My mother requested me relating to this recipe and she or he checked her cook book also it wasn’t in her own copy. It’s so tasty and also you don’t need to pre-prepare the taters.

Cheesy Scalloped Taters

1/4 cup chopped onion

2 Tablespoons of. butter
2 Tablespoons of. flour
1 1/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup shredded cheese, divided
3 medium taters, peeled and thinly sliced (3 cups)

Inside a sauce pan, prepare onion in butter till tender. Stir in flour and salt. Add milk all at one time. Prepare and stir until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat. Add 3/4 cup of cheese. Place half the sliced taters inside a greased 1 quart dish. Cover with half the sauce. Repeat layers. Top with remaining 1/4 cup of cheese. Bake covered at 350 levels for 35 minutes. Uncover and bake half an hour more or till taters are tender. Let stand a few minutes. Serves 4. (Should you don’t desire to use the cheese and merely have plain scalloped taters, omit the cheese while increasing the salt to at least oneOr2 teaspoon.)
