Updated April 14, 2016.

Naan is East Indian flatbread that's typically baked inside a tandoor oven. Naan is soft and puffy and it has a rather smoky flavor. It may be made in your own home. or purchased at many supermarkets. With this recipe, I purchase wheat grains naan at the shop.

Within this recipe, naan "pizza" is capped with asparagus, pancetta and goat cheese mashed with lemon and tulsi. The mixture of asparagus, goat cheese and pancetta can also be great on the regular pizza crust.

Broil the asparagus six to eight minutes until tender and crispy around the tips, fostering to not allow it to burn. Shake the pan a couple of times as the asparagus cooks. Once the asparagus cools, cut each stalk into thirds.

If at all possible, lower the broiler heat to low.

Arrange naan on the sheet pan. Brush gently with essential olive oil.

Drop spoonfuls of goat cheese on the top of every bit of naan, or evenly spread goat cheese on the top from the naan. Lay asparagus and pancetta out evenly around the flatbreads. Sprinkle pepper or red pepper flakes on the top, if preferred.

Put underneath the broiler before the naan and goat cheese are warm and soft, about 3 minutes. This naan pizza tastes best when warm, but may also be eaten at 70 degrees.

What's Pancetta?

Pancetta is basically Italian bacon. The fatty pork belly is cured with salt and spices and folded right into a thick roll. Unlike bacon, pancetta isn't smoked or sweetened. Pancetta is frequently offered in round slices in the deli counter (where one can specify how thick or thin you would like it) or perhaps in small pieces which have been chop up for you personally (that is convenient for recipes such as this).

Pancetta ought to be cooked before eating. It may be cooked inside a skillet, much like bacon, after which put into a variety of recipes.

Pancetta may be used instead of bacon in almost any recipe. It's fantastic in pasta dishes, on pizza, over salads or thrown with sauteed vegetables or cooked vegetables.
