Recipe type: Dessert

  • 1 Tablespoon yeast
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ cup tepid to warm water
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • ¾ cup tepid to warm water
  • 1 Tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar
  • 3-4 cups flour
  • 8 oz. softened cream cheese
  • 4 glasses of vegetable oil
  • 2 cups powder sugar
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  1. Combine yeast, sugar and tepid to warm water and let dissolve and yeast proof.
  2. After yeast has proofed, add egg, oil, orange juice, tepid to warm water, orange zest, salt and sugar and blend until combined.
  3. Gradually add flour just one cup to ½ cup at any given time until dough reaches a great dough consistency. Knead until smooth and combined.
  4. Let rise until bending in large quantities.
  5. Preheat 4 glasses of vegetable oil inside a medium sauce pan to 370 levels F.
  6. Roll dough onto a floured surface inside a rectangle in regards to a half inch think. Roughly 12x14 inches. Reduce 1 inch squares. Place in regards to a teaspoon of cream cheese in the heart of each square and fold all of the edges together to create a ball.
