Chicken patties puff pastry recipe

Wishing our lovely buddies as well as your families a really Happy and Prosperous Year 2015. Discussing along with you today commonplace snack in Goa known as Patties (pronounced as pat-ienc). An easy snack full of spiced hamburger inside a puff pastry covering.

Patties were only created using hamburger. These days you'll find it created using chicken and taters. Prior to the flamboyant coffee shop’s in Goa there have been tea stalls, small mother and pop coffee shop’s and bakeries were Patties were around the menu. Bakeries throughout the 80’s and 90’s had limited choices. Fresh bread was baked 2 occasions each day along with a couple of snacks and sweets. To mention a couple of Nankhatai (cookies created using flour, sugar and butter), Botta (baked crisped sweet bread sticks), Kaankana( Goan toasted hard Bagel), Angel Wings ( Palmier’s) and Plain Toast. I recall as my father would get these constantly for the evening tea.

Goan Snacks at Coffee shop’s

Usually Patties aren't made in your own home but they are purchased from the loaves of bread or coffee shop’s as puff pastry dough is difficult to find within the stores and very few people understand how to make puff pastry dough. It’s another story these days. All that's necessary with this recipe would be to make Mince Meat (cooked hamburger) which you'll make ahead of time after which stuffed in puff pastry dough and baked.

Thanks and thank you for discussing about Lebanese cuisine.

This looks amazing! What is the distinction between this Pattie recipe and Samosas, so far as ingredients? Or perhaps is the only real difference frying versus. baking? I haven’t were built with a good Samosa since i have was at Kenya and also the photo you demonstrated looks so scrumptious, I'm able to’t wait to do this out, and also the Samosas for those who have a recipe for individuals. Thank you for discussing!

Hi Aaron, I understand that Kenya includes a huge population of Indian’s and finding good Indian food ought to be easy. There's a positive change within the crust from the samosas and patties. Samosas utilizes a dough crust just like a wonton or spring roll wrapper which is fried while patties uses puff pastry dough and it is baked. Hopefully soon I have a recipe up for any vegetarian samosas because you provided the concept. Possess a great weekend.

Awesome! I'd a scrumptious lentil samosa in Nairobi and would like to make sure they are sometime. I expect towards the publish!
