Shoyu chicken recipe rainbow drive-in honolulu
Ingredients
  • Sauce:
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons garlic clove puree
  • 1 1/two tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/4 cups soy sauce
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar treatment
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 2 ounces peeled and crushed fresh ginger root
  • 5 pounds bone-in chicken thighs
  • Flour slurry: (to thicken)
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons water
Directions

Mix all of the sauce ingredients in a tiny bowl. Add some chicken to some large saute pan over medium heat and pour within the sauce. Provide a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 40 minutes, skimming off any fat that increases. Provide a boil again and add some flour slurry, then lower heat and let simmer for ten minutes to thicken. Arrange the chicken inside a deep serving platter and canopy using the sauce.
