Appareil duchesse recipe for chicken

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. grated carrots
  • 3/4 c. finely minced celery
  • 1 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1/4 c. finely minced onions
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 2 1/2 c. chicken stock or even bouillon
  • 11 ounce. Velveeta cheese

Directions

  1. Simmer minced carrots and celery within the boiling water till tender, about 15 min. Saute/fry onion in butter till soft although not brown. Include flour and blend well. Place over tepid to warm water, include lowfat milk and chicken stock or even bouillon and prepare till thickened, stirring constantly.
  2. Include cheese and stir till blended. Include cooked vegetables as well as their cooking water as well as heat completely. Serve capped with minced parsley or even watercress and supported with bread toasted sticks or even crackers. Yield: 8 portions.
