Hoponius union clone recipe for copelands chicken

Hoponius union clone recipe for copelands chicken

mclynch, have you brew the recipe you published for Hoponius Union?

I like the thought of attempting the Hoponius clone however i see some curiosities within the provided recipe:
-The website states this beer is 65 IBU and also the recipe you published only makes up about 1 / 2 of that.
-Magnum is usally used just like a bittering hop and is not really considered for it's flavor. That's, I do not begin to see the reason for splitting the additions between 60 and half an hour. In the event that half hour addition was Citra or Centennial it might be preferable.
-Getting 20 IBUs having a 5 minute addition will probably be like 3 oz per 5 gals inside a final addition. This is a ton.
-2oz of Centennial and a pair of oz of Citra per gallon is really a crap lot of hops at whirlppol.
-That stated 1.5 oz of centennial and 1.5 oz of citra / gallon is clearly 3 oz of hops per gallon or 15 oz of dry hops inside a 5 gallon batch. Dare I only say absurd?

I am not hating for you: if that is the recipe they gave after this you so whether it is. I am just stating that this really breaks all of the rules. You are speaking about 23 or 24 oz of hops (1.5 lbs!) inside a 5 gallon batch just between your 5 min and whirlpool additions. But it can be just crazy enough that it'll work.

Yes, that's a crazy quantity of hops. however the outcome was just as amazing.
We did a alongside having a 4 month old bottle of Hoponius Union just a week ago. the aroma of mine is way better - fruity, citrus.
The flavour of these two was almost indistinguishable. I am talking about it was place on. several even loved my clone better.

Now this was a costly beer to brew with this quantity of hops, however it was for any wedding, who cares. The 50 bottles were gone your evening! Perhaps the best beer I've ever made.

Props to Jack's Abby for delivering me the recipe. I really spoken to Jack in the ACBF and thanked him personally. Nice people.
