Tawa chicken recipe khana khazana

Ingredients


  • 500 gm plain flour (Maida)
  • Milk (2 cups)
  • 1 teaspoon dry yeast powder
  • 2 table spoons whisked yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1teaspoon oil
  • lukewarm water (for kneading the flour)
  • Pinch of sodium bicarbonate
  • black cumin seeds (12-15)

Directions

Dissolve dry yeast in lukewarm water and allow it to take 5-7 minutes.

Add sugar, salt, black cumin seeds and sodium bicarbonate towards the flour and blend well.

Now add some yeast mixture, milk, yogurt, oil making into soft dough.

Knead before the dough is smooth. Cover the dough and inside a warm spot for 2-3 hrs. The dough should almost be double in dimensions.

Knead the dough for around 2 to 3 minutes and divide the dough into equal parts.

Take each bit of dough, individually, and roll into an oblong shape. Dust gently using the dry flour while moving. Spread water gently somewhere from the naan.

Heat the tawa (girdle) on high flame. Now place the water part around the tawa. When the naan start departing the top of tawa, then turn the dry part upside lower with the aid of a tong(chimta) for some time. Lessen the flame to medium. Now remove naan from tawa as well as heat it upside lower on direct flame.

Apply ghee or butter onto it. Simple tawa-naans will be ready to serve.
