I am inclined to consider Sleeman's Honey Brown as like Killian's Irish Red. It's a noticable difference around the megalagers but nonetheless something of the disappointment. Honey Brown is really a lager, no ale. Colored it's more a dark amber than brown, which is thin in body and rather dry overall, except by having an oddly sweet finish. I'm unsure the way they get it done (perahps the recipe includes caramel syrup), and that i suspect there's hardly any honey.

Talking about Killian's does others recall 'back when' it was once an excellent beer? From the consuming it after i was stationed in southern CA in early 80's when Coors didn't have quite the distribution they are doing now. From the it getting much more body, taste and kick of computer does now.
