These caramelized, candied walnuts are very a goody. T oss them to your salad, over popcorn, or straight on to your teeth. Crunch. Crunch. I really like this straightforward approach to making the candied nuts where everything adopts the pan at the same time. Other methods I’ve attempted left me with globs of chocolate around the nuts as opposed to a more even coating. Additionally, it roasts the nuts simultaneously which means you don’t need to pre-toast them, adding it well towards the pan to become coated, blah, blah. Who needs extra steps? It seriously takes about a few minutes around the stove and a few minutes to awesome. The end product is scrumptious! My hubby was sampling them away from the pan. P.S. This recipe may be easily bending.
Ingredients for Candied Walnuts:
1 cup walnut halves/pieces (you may also make use of this recipe for candied pecans)
1 Tablespoons of unsalted butter
Steps To Make 5 Minute Candied Walnuts:
1. Heat a medium non-stick skillet over medium heat, add 1 cup walnuts, 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 1 Tablespoons of butter.
2. Heat over medium heat for five minutes, stirring frequently so that your mixture doesn’t burn (especially for the finish). Once the sugar mixture starts melting, stir constantly until all sugar is melted and nuts are coated.
3. Transfer immediately onto a sheet of parchment paper and separate the nuts immediately. Using two spatulas can make this go faster. You don’t want to own nuts an opportunity becoming a wad of inseparable delicous goodness unless of course you're the only person who definitely are experiencing the wad ). Seriously, move rapidly from the moment the nuts are coated until they're separated on the parchment paper.
When the coating hardens (5-7 minutes), you are able to transfer these to a bowl and only inhale them immediately or save ’em for any salad or somethin’.
