This recipe is about technique.

Why is these cookie recipe not the same as the main one using the some guy that vaguely resembles grand daddy around the box is you soak the oatmeal in certain water first. That was a complete epiphany for me personally. I felt so stupid after studying the recipe. Why did not it happen to me to soak the oatmeal years back. I am talking about, duh, you do not eat oatmeal without soaking the oatmeal in some kind of liquid first, thinking about do this with cookies?

I given these oatmeal cookies to 3 18 year men plus they all observed the cookies were a really long way away from other oatmeal cookies (that is saying something about how exactly different they're). Between soaking the oatmeal in water along with a little butter plus using the chilling, it lets the oatmeal absorb the dough's moisture. The oatmeal is toasted almost caramelized in flavor. The perimeters are crisp and also the middles are soft. The main one factor Used to do different is the fact that I personally don't like individuals dreadful little dirty mouth bombs (raisins) and so i overlooked them and added an entire package of semi-sweet choc chips.
