Spritz cookie recipe with confectioners sugar

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1-1/4 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • GLAZE:
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • two to three tablespoons water
  • Colored sugar and sprinkles

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375. Inside a large bowl, cream butter, confectioners' salt and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and extracts. Progressively beat flour into creamed mixture.
  2. Utilizing a cookie press fitted having a disk of your liking, press dough 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 6-8 minutes or until set (don't brown). Remove to wire racks to awesome completely.
  3. In a tiny bowl, mix confectioners' sugar and enough water to achieve preferred consistency. Dip cookies in glaze decorate as preferred. Let stand until set. Yield: about 7-1/2 dozen.
