Disneyland matterhorn macaroon cookie recipe

Macaroons with melted white-colored chocolate the same shape as Matterhorn Mountain
* This isn't the official Disney recipe but instead a really close replication

  • 4 egg-whites
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • 3/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 1/2 cups white-colored sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups flaked coconut
    1. Preheat the oven to 300°.
    2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
    3. Inside a medium bowl or mixer, beat egg-whites, vanilla, almond extract, and ream of tartar until soft peaks form.
    4. Progressively beat in sugar and whip until stiff.
    5. Inside a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, and coconut.
    6. Fold in to the egg-whites.
    7. Visit heaping tablespoons onto prepared cookie sheets, shaping each one of these right into a “matterhorn mountain.”
    8. Bake for 25-half an hour (based on size) until slightly golden.
    9. Melt the white-colored chocolate using the cream on the double broiler, and dip the top of the each cooled macaroon in to the melted chocolate.
    10. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
