Seared ahi tuna recipe peppercorn

If you want steak, you'll love this pepper-crusted Ahi tuna steak recipe. This cut of tuna is better enjoyed medium-rare, like every great steak recipe. and also the spicy pepper crust is ideal with this particular meaty fish.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon. salt
  • 1 teaspoon. ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon. paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon. red pepper cayenne
  • 4 (6-oz) ahi tuna steaks, about 1 1/2-inches thick (request "sear" or "sushi" grade if cooking medium rare)
  • 4 tablespoons of fresh coarsely ground pepper
  • 2 Tbsp .. vegetable oil
  • 1 lemon, quartered

Preparation

1. In a tiny bowl, combine the salt, coriander, paprika, and red pepper cayenne. Lay the tuna steaks on a plate, and sprinkle the spice mixture evenly on sides.
