  1. *Note: some cooks choose to leave kale ribs and stalks intact-your decision. With respect to the number of kale, when the stalks and ribs are thick, I take them off. A salad spinner is handy for laundry the kale.
  2. Shred kale finely and put inside a steamer basket built in a pot. Be sure to give a couple inches water towards the pot!
  3. Toss in the garlic clove.
  4. Bring water towards the boil. Cover pan, reduce heat to low and steam kale for roughly ten minutes, or until tender.
  5. Remove from heat to serving dish. Toss with some oil of preference, if preferred.
  6. Season with salt and cracked pepper to taste.
