In Season: The banana's high season is The month of january through April, however the fruit can be obtained year-round in supermarkets.
Things to look for: Choose plump, evenly colored yellow bananas flecked with small brown specks (an indication of ripeness). Avoid individuals with blemishes, which often indicate bruising.
How you can Store: Ripe bananas could be kept in the refrigerator for a few days. The peel will turn brown however the flesh will stay unchanged.
