Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking: 25 to half an hour
Serves - two to three

Ingredients:

Ghee - 2 tblspn
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 teaspoon
Cinnamon Stick / Pattai - 1 small piece
Cardamom / Yelakai - 2 crushed
Cashewnuts - 15 pieces
Ginger root - 1 tblspn chopped finely
Garlic clove - 6 cloves chopped finely

Eco-friendly Chilli - 2 chopped finely
Curry leaves - 10 chopped finely
Coriander powder / Malli podi - 1 tblspn
Turmeric powder / Manjal podi - 1 teaspoon
Garam masala powder - 1 teaspoon

Grain - 1 cup ( I made use of regular grain )
Peas - 1 cup ( I made use of frozen)
Salt to taste
Sugar - 1 teaspoon
Water - 2.5 cup (if using basmati grain, use 2 cup water)
Fresh Lemon Juice - 1 tblspn
Coriander leaves / Cilantro for garnishing

Method:

Have a sauce pan, add ghee into it as well as heat up.

Include the components given from cumin seeds to curry leaves and allow it to saute for any min.

Now include the spice powders and blend well.saute for 30 secs.

Include grain and toss well using the masala and ghee.

Include peas, salt, sugar and blend well.

Now pour water and produce the entire factor to some boil.

Once it reaches boil. Cover having a super tight lid and simmer the stove. Prepare for 15-20 mins till all of the water is absorbed through the grain and also the grain is cooked.

Now squeeze some fresh lemon juice over and sprinkle with cilantro.

Serve with yogurt.

@morri Yes you shouldn't add some powdered spices combined with the whole spices, they'll copy.

Add some whole spices and saute them for any min. Adding the powdered spices and allow them to blossom for under 30 sec.
