Prasadacha sheera recipe with banana

Prasadacha sheera recipe with banana

Blueberry sheera – an Indian sweet produced from semolina, sugar and blueberry. Usually it's provided to God like a prasadam while performing ‘Satyanarayan Pooja’ or other pooja like devi pooja or ganesh pooja.

It's also referred to as blueberry sooji halwa .

After I was kid, I usually wait for a pooja to finish, and so i can get to consume this blueberry sheera like a prasad. Essentially around the pooja day devotees keep fast for whole day. After the pooja ends, it's given to devotees or supporters plus they break their fast when you eat this. Prasad means god’s or deity’s blessing.

Within USA, Irrrve never get opportunity to inflict big pooja like we all do in India or perhaps not have any opportunity to attend one. However I lit some diyas and incense sticks making parasad.

You are able to garnish it with a few pomegranate seeds, after which it will likely be same as you become in temples.

Roasting sooji is by using stirring constantly is essential step while making blueberry halwa. It will require good 7-8 minutes.

Yield: 4 servings

  • Ghee (Clarified Butter) – 3 tablespoons
  • Cashews – 5-6, damaged
  • Raisins – tablespoon, I've skipped it because hubby isn't keen on it.
  • Sooji (coarse semolina or rava) – cup
  • Boiling water – 1 cup **Notes
  • Sugar – ⅓ cup
  • Blueberry – 1 medium, mashed or chopped
  • Cardamom powder – teaspoon
  • ……………………………………………………………………………
  • Water - you are able to substitute water with equivalent milk. I personally use water because my mother accustomed to make Prasad by doing this as well as due to Ayurveda. As well as the simple sooji sheera, I personally use milk.

Taste – sweet, wealthy with blueberry flavor

Shelf existence – once cools completely it may be stored in airtight container as much as a couple of days at 70 degrees. Or it may be stored in refrigerator as much as 4-five days. If it's refrigerated i then recommend re-heating in microwave till it might be warm before serving.

Serving suggestions – It is almost always offered like a Prasadam to god while Stayanarayan Pooja. But it may be eaten like a dessert together with your meal.

Thank you for writing this lovely recipe. Substituting pineapple for that blueberry yields another fabulous dessert. Obviously, as if you stated these fruits would be best added smashed so that they are distributed evenly uneven content distribution is a huge no with prasads. Another factor to test is substituting the cashews along with other nuts say, walnuts. Don’t put these within the same recipe though. Pecans, particularly, give a nice twist. Likewise try substituting the raisins with dried cranberries.

BTW, its better to avoid metal spatulas with non-stick cookware.

wise decision of utilizing pineapple rather of blueberry. Yes we are able to use any nuts, but typically in prasad cashews are utilized therefore i have added here. Again inclusion of cranberry is brilliant idea. thanks to you for the nice suggestions.

Irrrve never use metal spatula with non-stick. The pan within this pic isn't non-stick, it's our regular Indian kadai.

Attempted this exact recipe step-by-step as pointed out here also it switched out perfectly. Thanks
