In the Test Kitchen

*Tip:

To create dry bread cubes, preheat oven to 300 levels F. Cut 12 to 14 slices white-colored bread into 1/2-inch cubes to yield 8 cups. Spread into two 15x10x1-inch baking pans bake for ten to fifteen minutes or until dry, stirring two times awesome. (Cubes is constantly dry and crisp because they awesome.) Or let bread cubes stand, loosely covered, at 70 degrees for eight to twelve hrs.

Slow Oven Directions:

Prepare as directed, doubling the levels of all ingredients, except use 1-1/3 cups chicken broth. Omit the two-quart casserole and gently coat a 3-1/2- or 4-quart slow oven with nonstick cooking spray. Spoon stuffing in to the slow oven. Cover and prepare on low-heat setting for several-1/two to four hrs. (Stuffing will get very moist because it cooks.)

Make-Ahead Directions:

Prepare as directed through Step Two, except don't preheat oven. Cover casserole tightly with plastic wrap chill for approximately 24 hrs. For everyone, preheat oven to 350 levels F. Remove plastic wrap. If preferred, drizzle stuffing by having an additional 1/4 cup chicken broth to moisten. Bake, covered, for 40 to forty-five minutes or until an immediate-read thermometer placed into center of stuffing registers 165 levels F.
