I began testing for soft ball stage once the temp was 230, and as it turned out, it had been ready. #3 You ought to have a pan filled with molten gold. I put mine into my glass mixing bowl and beat within the powdered sugar. however i stopped at 1 1/2 cups since it appeared as if it had been thick enough. Affirmed, it setup all right, and it is very sweet. A small piece goes a lengthy way, however it does greatly resemble the See's butterscotch squares in flavor (also my personal favorite). Lovely taste and texture. My second attempt for fudge (the very first was gritty with undissolved sugar.) also it went perfectly. I've got a tip not incorporated within the recipe don't scrape the edges when the pot after it boils, the undissolved sugar in the sides may cause all the sugar to crystalize.

I could not find my doggone chocolate thermometer, and so i just winged it, also it arrived on the scene fabulous. My personal favorite so far! Greatly suggested.
