  • 75g golden caster sugar
  • 4 medium egg
  • 250g chocolates, finely chopped
  • 450ml double cream
  • 140g hard nougat or torrone, chopped into cm chunks
  • 50g pistachio, roughly chopped
  • Method

    Butter and line a 900g/2lb loaf tin with cling film. Bring a pan water to some gentle simmer. Place the sugar and eggs inside a heatproof bowl, then place within the simmering water and whisk until pale, thick and bending in volume. Remove in the heat, plunge the foot of the bowl into cold water and continue whisking before the mixture is awesome.

    Melt the chocolate within the microwave on Low, stir, then fold in to the egg mixture. Whip the cream to soft peaks and fold in to the chocolate egg mixture using the nougat and pistachios.

    Pour the mix in to the loaf tin, smooth the top having a spoon, then cover and freeze until firm. You can do this as much as 2 days ahead. For everyone, come out onto an amount dish, take away the cling film and then leave within the fridge for 15 mins to melt slightly before slicing.

    I chose to make this for a cocktail party for 8 and used the pink/ white-colored nougat that was absolutely fine ( and far cheaper). I offered it on the big white-colored plate with raspberries to 1 side and put some single cream round the outdoors. it had the wow factor and everybody raved how scrumptious it had been. Defiantly someone to do for any big group it might have offered 12 when i work white-colored thin ( it is extremely wealthy)
