Following the taste sensation that's Miaow Miaow Pizza Flavored Snacks taken the interns' hearts at SE HQ, we weirdly found ourselves wanting for additional Styrofoam-textured treats.

Fortunately Robyn swooped directly into satisfy our cravings by getting in four flavors of Tohato's Caramel Corn . a Japanese snack made since 1971 more resembles cheese puffs compared to caramel corn anybody in the usa knows (and loves). We attempted four of their many flavors. Choco Crunch, Almond, Peanut, and Milk.

Note from Robyn: I'll admit I only bought this since it was probably the most turd-searching snack I have seen.

I was most intrigued through the Choco Crunch because of its resemblance to something present in a rest room. Here a skinny chocolate coating jackets a semicircular puffed corn-based crisp (studded with small items of cookie and peanuts, which did not add much in texture or flavor), producing a not-too-sweet and completely addictive snack. Despite its unfortunate appearance, it might be simple to eat this whole package.

Sadly, it has exactly the same tricky sign of cinema packaging, where the large box just hides a significantly smaller sized plastic bag of the particular food. But at $2.75 per package (purchased at New Kam Man in New york city), will still be not necessarily a bad deal.

Make certain to consume these before they turn stale after sitting out for any couple of days these essentially become chocolate-flavored packing peanuts.

The non-chocolate flavors make for the same eating experience. They don't have the minor textural interest from the "crunch" coating available on their turd-like peer but nonetheless manage exactly the same inner styrofoam-like quality. You may expect those to taste like artificial cheese as their texture so carefully mimics Cheetos, but sadly the tastes are less exciting.

First of all, Milk did not help remind us a lot of its namesake liquid, rather just tasting much more of empty sugar. This bears an eery resemblance to white-colored cheddar Pirate's Booty, and you will think your tongue is playing methods for you whenever your tastebuds register sugary sweetness rather of powdered cheese.

Peanut is not really very nutty. Its aroma is much more telling of their namesake compared to actual flavor, which honestly does not taste like much whatsoever.

Finally, Almond comes nearest towards the flavor of traditional caramel corn, boasting exactly the same shiny golden brown coating from the treat that it shares a reputation. We did not discern much actual almond-liness, but regardless of this really is most likely the very best flavor from the bunch.

Overall, this can be a snack that needs to be purchased carefully, because it will probably get consumed in a short time span. (It ought to be noted these created mixed feelings among our office staff, a number of love, a number of hate, and a few of common confusion.)

Have you ever attempted any flavors of Tohato's Caramel Corn? What is your opinion?
