I increased in Saskatchewan so we had root beer, orange, grape or cream soda floats like a treat both at home and in the local A & W. During the cold months, a float just didn’t appear appropriate in order kids, we’d frequently add two or three tablespoons cream (like coffee cream) to the root beer. Root beer floats are great, however the best floats of my childhood were Vernor’s ginger root ale floats!
