You cannot rely on them as an alternative for nuts. It grouped into the 'tweaks' category where you stand using something free instead of another. The problem is it becomes to simple to overindulge them since you think they are free. Many people disagree with this particular but still use things as tweaks, therefore it is your choice.
Should you choose choose to do them, my suggestion could be maybe don't syn them the very first time you need to do them, however if you simply enjoy them and wish to ask them to more, I'd syn them in the same return that peanuts could be - 7.5 syns per 25g
Personally, I'd rather consume the actual factor than the usual substitute if her same syn value!

This really is one factor I don't know about, I consider them free because if one makes humus from them that's free, if you ate half a tin of chickpeas as humus or as roasted chickpeas you'd be eating the equivalent chickpeas! It might technically be considered a tweak, but my consultant always states what Sarah states above, don't syn it and if you feel it's negatively effected unwanted weight loss then syn them. They are certainly much better than nuts!

You are right Ernie, while using chickpeas to create hummus is free of charge.
The main difference is when you are making it into hummus, you typically possess the speed food together with it (carrot sticks, pepper, cucumber, etc) and that means you are not just eating the chickpeas and you are having your 1/3 of veggies by using it.
Eating them as peanuts, I can not suppose anybody would eat all of them with speed foods simultaneously. (I do not eat nuts when i can't stand them, but anybody I understand does not possess a bag of nuts along with a salad. lol)
It's daft I understand, but synning the roasted ones is needed stop overeating them which help prevent any possible undesirable gains on individuals scales.
