Loved it! Produced in my little crockpot also it only agreed to be right, not very sweet and also the barley adds an attractive texture towards the oatmeal. Thanks Lauren!
I were left with scorched porridge and that i suspect there is not quite enough liquid within this recipe. The Three years old attempted it however requested for weetbix, the 6 years old wasn't game. The dog and cat still haven't eaten the rejected stuff. I ate mine also it was quite good even though the barley did not prepare in addition to expected. I had been a little disappointed using the result since recipe sounded quite promising. I believe the components are great however that this recipe needs some serious tweaking.
3 stars. Personally, I'd give this recipe 4 stars - it had been excellent. But, the kids did not appreciate it half around Used to do and, ultimately, I am cooking for any family, not only myself. Getting stated that - I truly enjoyed adding barley for this recipe - it provided a pleasant chew. I loved the truth that is wasn't too sweet and permitted for sugar to become supplemented at table. The 'edges' from the porridge ended up getting just a little scorched, but simply slightly. Also the simplicity of preparation couldn't be faulted - get everything together within the crockpot and waking up to and including hot, healthy breakfast. I believe timing might have to perform a lot using the success (or otherwise) of the recipe because it is hearty and much more suitable for a cooler season. I figured everything labored well together, and also the porridge was fluffy and needed simply a slurp of cream, for me personally, to have it to table. I'll certainly do this on my small family again during the cold months - could it have been just their response to oatmeal in high-summer time. Excellent attempt, Chef.
