Ingredients
- 1 cup lengthy-grain white-colored grain
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 3 whole cloves
- 4 cups water
- 1 egg
- 3 cups dairy
- 1 (12-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring
- 1/2 cup raisins, optional
Directions
Soak the grain, cinnamon sticks, lemon zest and whole cloves within the water inside a heavy saucepan for one hour.
After soaking, bring the grain mixture to some boil on high temperature, uncovered. If this begins to boil (about a few minutes), lower heat to medium and prepare for ten to twelve more minutes or until water is nearly evaporated.
While grain is cooking, beat the egg inside a bowl. Add some milk and stir well to combine. Add some egg mixture, vanilla flavoring and condensed milk towards the grain and prepare over medium-low heat, stirring carefully, until it thickens slightly or until preferred consistency, about 25 to 35 minutes.
Let awesome uncovered.
Note: remember that because the grain cools it thickens. The end product is going to be thinner than traditional grain pudding.
