Quick! What’s your preferred condiment. For me personally it would need to be MUSTARD &...adopted VERY carefully with a Utah tradition&.... Fry Sauce.
Within Utah, with regards to sauce&....it’s by pointing out Fry Sauce! However in Mississippi&.....apparently Comeback Sauce may be the queen mother of condiments!
It’s supposedly nearly the same as the Bloomin’ Onion sauce at Outback and complements EVERYTHING &....except Cheerios. -)
You can use it on burgers, like a sandwich spread, smeared on saltines, like a salad dressing (think 1000 Island having a kick!), like a dip for raw veggies, or shrimp, or onion rings, or fried potatoes, well, you see what i mean.
The majority of the recipes I just read for Comeback Sauce agree with the proportions of mayonnaise to ketchup to chili sauce, but then it’s virtually as much as personal preference. Personally, they'd me at &"1 cup mayonnaise&".
So without further ado&....I provide you with&...
Mississippi Comeback Sauce
Constitutes a pint jar full.
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic clove powder
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
- 1/4 cup essential olive oil
- juice of 1 lemon
Mix all ingredients well and store in refrigerator overnight. It must sit to allow the tastes become “acquainted”.
Experience EVERYTHING (except cheerios)!
