
Yes, steel cut oatmeal can be created inside a pot around the stove, or perhaps in a grain oven, but do you know you makes it inside your vacuum insulated Zojirushi food jar too? Since the insulation on Zojirushi food jars are extremely good, whatever you do is put the oatmeal and warm water inside, seal, and out comes deliciously cooked steel cut oatmeal.
For 12, 17 or 25 oz. Zojirushi Stainless Food Jars
- 1/4 cup steel cut oatmeal
- 2/3 cup boiling water, or stick to the directions around the package
- Sugar or fruits
*This recipe was created for Stainless Food Jars SW-EAE35/50 and SW-FBE75. Adjustments might be needed to make this recipe in other Food Jar models.
*Please make certain to not overfill the meals jar with ingredients, because the oatmeal will expand with cooking, and could make the lid to burst.
Preheat the meals jar by flowing boiling water (unlisted in ingredients). Close the lid and permit to preheat for five minutes.
Drain water. Add oatmeal and boiling water. Close the lid tightly and shake a couple of occasions.
After an hour or so, shake the meals jar again to combine the oatmeal. Let take another hour.
Open the lid and add sugar or fruits for your preference.
