We remained in the Riu Playacar from June 1-eighth. We travelled Skyservice. Flight was fine, a little bit of turbulance. Otherwise fine.

We showed up at 10pm in the hotel. Before we formally check-in they'd food awaiting us in the buffet, that was great!

Rooms are nice. Absolutely nothing to be WOW. about. Average, neat and well stored. Beds are pressed together to create a king, a little hard, however i don't mind that. Shower area nice, and clean, seperate bathroom area. Although if you're a light sleeper, frequency higher everything very early as 5:30-6am.

Food: Buffet breakfast and dinner is nice. Plenty of varitey, and theme nights. A la carte dinner is certainly not much better than the buffet. We ate the steakhouse, it had been good, but no problem. Did not make use of the Mexican restaurant, because they offered that everyday, for supper, so we did not make use of the Asian.
Although we did sneak in to the Riu Tequila for supper, far better food and much more variety. We were able to visit two times, before we've got busted. hahaha. You are able to only visit in the morning and lunch. Nevertheless its well worth the try if you're able to.

Pool/ beach: Pool is great, lots of space, expect it may get crowded whether they have pool activities for example aerobic exercise and water polo. There are many chairs to select from, however the huts are often all passed by 9am. The shore however was disappointing. Used to do hear there was still being some harm to the shore because of hurricane Catrina, however i didn’t understand it was that bad. Don’t misunderstand me water is gorgeous, but you will find huge sand bags within the water….they appeared as if beached whales. Also across the shore too, you will find sand bags too. Whenever you walk within the water it's very rocky, but because you walk in further its better, but there are still some pretty big rocks, so be cautious, I have to have stubbed my foot a minimum of twelve of occasions. You also can’t just walk out of your beach chair towards the sea, it’s just like a little hill that’s about 4-5feet lower. The hurricane just ripped these poor beaches apart. It’s not too shabby, should you walk along to another hotels, many are worse than the others. Initially it's disappointing, especially if you've been with other amazing beaches, however, you enjoy it enjoy yourself. After the first day, they don’t even bother you any longer. They are attempting to restore and re-build beaches, but it’s likely to be another few years before it’s complete

Grounds. The causes are nice, not really a huge resort, the lobby is really a fair size, just average. The Lobby and grounds in the Riu Tequila tend to be bigger and, however i guess that’s because its next door and isn't around the beach, so they need to compensate for it. We visited the Riu Yucatan, as possible visit too. Again, nothing special, and also the buffet isn't proficient at all, as compared to the Tequila and Playacar

Activities and Entertainment. We didn’t remain at our hotel for that entertainment. But did see a show in the Tequila. It had been o.k, lots of dancing and nice to watch…but after it had been the same stuff….

We wound up likely to Fifth Ave. You have to visit for shopping. A lot of stores, bars, restaurants, pubs, cafes ect…It is sooo nice there. Especially during the night. Seems like your in your little town. Everybody just walks the roads and browses. Visited a pleasant restaurant known as Casa Aqua. Excellent food, just pricy. Its merely a $5 cab ride.

Departure and look for. Our departure flight wasn’t till 9pm, therefore we spent the majority of the day by the pool. If you would like late take a look at, its $50US extra, only when your living space isn't booked for the following individuals to check-in. For me it’s not worthwhile with no need. They've private shower areas within the lobby near the bathrooms, where they offer soapy shampoo along with a towel. So that’s what we should did. They keep your luggage inside a guaranteed room that's locked, so be concerned regarding your luggage. Take a look at was simple and easy , extremely fast!

Conclusion Riu Playacar is a fairly hotel. If you're beach person you are bit disappointed, should you don’t look after the beach and don’t mind a 5mins walk/ 2min shuttle ride for this beach in the Tequila. I'd say remain at the Tequila, since it's overall look is a lot better, and meals are better. When the cost is nice, book, otherwise i then would reconsider. Yes it's nice, however i wouldn’t return again, when i know you will find better hotels available. It’s a mature hotel, so it’s nothing like the lately new Riu’s in Aruba, or Los Cabos. We compensated inexpensive, so overall I'd a lot of fun, and you'll too, should you really turn it into a great time!

we've got away from ten days in mexico, we remained in the rui playcar, your accommodation is amazing! we actually didnt know what to anticipate once we haven't visited mexico before. Whenever we showed up employees were really friendly so we even got given a cocktail whenever we checked in.A Really warm atmosphere. We'd our bags come to the area, the area would be a nice size, super clean, seperate toilet, shower along with a little dressing room area with curtains sepparating the area out of this area.Comfortable beds, a secure and also the room were built with a great balcony with a few chairs to relax on during the night or each morning. The area also had optics that was really fun! selection of vodka, rum, brandy not to mention the famous tequila! additionally a fridge with pepsi, orange, 7up, corona and water. The fridge was re stocked every a couple of days.

Food was fantastic, sensible choice of food, good variety every day, different styles, waiters were lovely. Iam quite picky with my food and that i didnt have trouble eating, i had been very satifised every single day. You will find 4 kinds of restaurants buffet style, mexicano, asian and steakhouse. We ate in the mexicano two times it had been lovely, you receive a selection of mains with buffet style starters along with a great pud, i had been stuffed! The meals was excellent. If you wish to get your meals at the themed restaurants just book and among the waiters at breakfast, they provide u a period slot and let you know what to do.

The swimming pool area was lovely, 2 large pools one having a go swimming up bar and jacuzzi and yet another having a beach ball internet along with a disabled ramp. There is lots of sunbeds for everybody under the sun and shade. Your accommodation also were built with a towel service so you can get fresh beach towels everyday. The bar at the lake offered an excellent number of drinks for everybody, we actually enjoyed the cocktails these were scrumptious! The shore was nice even though the ocean might be a bit rough sometimes, again plenty of sunbeds and aquatic sports to complete.

There is lots of things happening throughout the day in the hotel, the entertainment staff were wonderful, stored us ammused every day with a decent number of games for example horseshoe, boules, shooting, aqua gym, bingo and kayaking within the pool. The night time entertainment was excellent, your accommodation bar had shows on every night for the entire family, again a great number of fun.

Your accommodation generally was fabulous, very clean, beautiful stored gardens with a lot of wildlife to determine. We'd an excellent holiday and also have some happy recollections!

Upon arrival we checked in. first within the hotel but last to obtain a key, more youthful vacationers ( ladies) got priority within the older clientele. First impresion could be that the entrance wasn't as stunning as other Riu hotels which i have remained in.
Demonstrated to the rooms, disappointingly all of the worries which i had (read reports about) before travelling concerning the moist smell within the rooms were regrettably correct. It truly was appalling. We came back to reception, were demonstrated 5 more rooms, only one was marginally better. No Thomson Repetition in resort. these were all in a meeting. no phone number to make contact with them neither at reception or perhaps in the Guide..bad representation.,therefore we needed to contact Thomson working in london. at cost to all of us of 20+. After 5 hrs the repetition showed up, we'd to settle smelly rooms for that night. then were up-graded to Suite rooms the following day. If you're able to go to the additional cost its worth doing the rooms are perfect. There after the Managemant couldn't do enough for all of us, it had been apparent that they're trying the most beautiful to aid some- rating awarded for this hotel.
