Chicha Morada is Peru's most widely used non-liquor. It's enjoyed all year round but particularly throughout the summer time several weeks. It's crimson color originates from the Peruvian crimson corn, also referred to as maiz morado, grown within the Andes mountain tops that it's made.
The foundation of chicha morada could be tracked to the Inca Empire.
Ingredients Needed
20 Glasses of Water
3 Sticks of Cinnamon
1 Pineapple Peel
2.5 oz. of Dried Cherries
2 Teaspoons of Whole Cloves
1/2 Cup Finely Peeled Apple
two tablespoons Key Lime Juice
Preparation
Inside a large pot, bring water, crimson corn, cinnamon sticks, pineapple peel, dried cherries, and cloves to some boil. Boil for just one hour. Strain the liquid, and discard the the corn cob, fruits and whole spices. Add diced fruit towards the liquid when awesome. Add ice and serve chilled.
