Black Orchid Martini: Get The Drink On
A week ago I had been in Columbus, Ohio for that Romantic Occasions Booklovers convention. I must admit, I wasn’t too convinced about likely to Columbus, however i was proven wrong greatly. The town is lovely and charming, the downtown area i was in was well-developed coupled with plenty to provide when it comes to restaurants and shops, and also the hotel the convention what food was in, Hyatt Regency Columbus, was the very best convention hotel I’ve have you been to, with amazing service, staff and reaction to needs. Kudos for them!
I had been fortunate to possess some pretty outstanding meals (made better still through the outstanding company) at a number of restaurants, but there is one cocktail that outshone all of them and i also’m still considering (and dying to create) even not much later.
On Thurs ., I visited M. that is a Cameron Mitchell restaurant. The meals was divine, the service wonderful however the highlight from the meal was after i purchased and received a Black Orchid martini. Little did I understand I would receive this&...
Apologies for that poor display quality (via my iPhone). The waiter brings a martini glass having a round ball of ice towards the table. Inside the ice is frozen an orchid flower. Once towards the table, the waiter flows the martini within the round of ice and you now have the Black Orchid. However it wasn’t only the presentation from the martini that charmed me (though that helped) it had been the flavour. It had been, to put it simply, scrumptious. Most likely the very best martini I’ve ever endured, and that i do like my martinis. And So I requested for, and it was graciously given, the recipe for that Black Orchid. Lucky, lucky us!

1/2 oz simple syrup
1/2 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice

Shake and strain inside a martini glass (props for you if one makes ice balls with frozen flowers inside).
