Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups raisins
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1-1/4 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal
- 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions
- Place raisins inside a bowl. Cover with boiling water let are a symbol of a few minutes. Drain and hang aside.
- Meanwhile, inside a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, individually, beating well after each addition. Beat in molasses. Combine the oatmeal, flour, sodium bicarbonate, salt and cinnamon progressively increase the creamed mixture and blend well. Stir in raisins.
- Visit tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto gently greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes or until gently browned. Remove to wire racks to awesome. Yield: about 5 dozen.
