Thanks, Sharon 123, with this recipe it had been a great mix! I upped the barley to some cup and reduced the brown grain to at least one.5 cups to include a lot more of barley's health qualities. This mix works out fluffy and much better than the sum of the its parts. Thanks and to -Rita- for that suggestion of adding onion and a little bit of essential olive oil at the start, that we did do. If anybody will find it, try Much Better Than Boullion without having stock on hands--it can make for any tasty base.
