Filipino street food tempura recipe rice
  • ½ kilo large shrimps
  • 1 Tablespoons of. calamansi juice
  • 1 teaspoon. salt
  • oil for deep frying
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup water
  • 1¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon. baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon. salt
  • ½ teaspoon. MSG

Tempura sauce ingredients::

  • 1 cup fish or shrimp broth
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup grain wine
  • 2 teaspoon. sugar
  • 4 cloves minced garlic clove
  • ½ cup grated radish or labanos

How you can prepare Shrimp Tempura:

  1. Take away the mind and covering of shrimps but leave tail intact. Devein.
  2. Make crosswise slit on inside of shrimp, so it wouldn't curl when cooked.
  3. Season with salt and calamansi juice. Put aside.
  4. Beat the egg. Add water and beat again. Add all of the flour, baking powder, salt and MSG.
  5. Inside a deep pan, heat a couple of inches deep oil. Dip shrimps in batter and drop one at a time in herbal.
  6. Fry until golden brown. Serve hot with tempura sauce.

To create tempura sauce:

  1. Mix all ingredients, prepare for five minutes. Awesome before serving.
