
Honeycomb Cake / "Kek Sarang Lebah"
Today I've chose to make this Honeycomb Cake. For those who have looked online, this Honeycomb Cake, in Malay, some have known as it "Kek Sarang Lebah" and a few known as it "Bingka Sarang Semut" (Ants' Nest) or Kuih Sarang Semut! However the ingredients are the same because it is.
It is really an easy cake to create however the primary factor would be to allow the completed batter to relax and spend time at 70 degrees a minimum of one hour. It might be better if greater than an hour or so so the sodium bicarbonate to have the desired effect to create bubbles within the batter. This cake needs and should bake a minimum of for one hour too.

200g sugar
240g water
50g butter
4 eggs
160g condensed milk
140g all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate
1. Inside a saucepan over low heat, caramelize the sugar until it turns a dark golden brown.
2. Gradually and thoroughly pour water in to the caramel. (Be cautious, the caramel is extremely
hot and water will rapidly steam up Stir before the caramel is dissolved within the water
also it turns into a thin syrup. Remove from heat.
3. Add some butter and hang the pan aside to awesome.
4. Beat the egg till light and fluffy, adding within the condensed milk.
5. Sift the flour and sodium bicarbonate together and fold within the flour mixture towards the egg mixture
having a spatula and blend well to mix.
6. Pour the caramel butter sauce in to the batter and blend well.
7. Pour the batter right into a greased, 9-inch round cake pan. Allow it to sit not less than 1-3 hrs
for that bubbles to start developing.
8. Bake at 170C for one hour or until a skewer placed in to the cake arrives clean.
(Alternatively you are able to steam this cake at medium to high temperature for one hour but do cover

Don't believe I am gonna rave much relating to this cake. I believe I'll say I favor the "Pak Thong Koh" far better.
