4 dried chillies (deseeded and absorb tepid to warm water to melt)
2 cm galangal
2 cm fresh tumeric
1 cm ginger root
4 shallots
3 cloves garlic clove
2 lemongrass bulbs, bruised
1 tablespoon oil

Process all ingredients for that blender to some fine paste. Heat a saucepan after some oil and saute the blended ingredients until aromatic.
Add some grated coconut, tamarind juice, ground spices, salt, sugar and kaffir lime leaves. Stir minimizing heat. Let everything prepare lower on low heat and stir from time to time.
Prepare before the coconut dries up and becomes slightly crispy. Serve with glutinous grain cakes or any other grain dishes like nasi ambang.
